In my own life, I have found that it is challenging to engage with God and offer thanks for his provision and blessings. This is often due to my own self-sufficiency as I go through my daily routine. When I take the time to engage with God, I am led down the path of recognizing my own depravity and realizing my own shortcomings. Out of this grows recognition of my need for dependence on Him. It is in these moments where my heart can engage and offer thanks for all that God has provided for me, as well as offer praise to God for who He is.
As the Psalmist writes, we are commanded to enter his gates with thanksgiving and praise.
“Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he, who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” —Psalm 100
Let us give thanks together and offer praise to our God as our provider.
What are you thankful for today?
