From John

Hi!  Thanks for praying for me as I have endured a week of major discomfort.  Sleep depravation was the worst part, not being able to breathe comfortably contributes to not being able to sleep well.  Today I had the stitches and splints removed from my nose, all is good to go.  We had a minor complication with my ear, the blood clotted funny, so he had to numb it, make an incision and squeeze out the blood to drain it properly.  So a few more days with a piece of cotton wedged in my ear and I am good to go.  I can’t wait to have my equilibrium back!

Kristin and I want to thank you all for your prayers.

John

One week later

Did you have a good memorial weekend?  One of the funny things about living in Indianapolis is the Indy 500.  HUGE EVENT, right?  Well, in Indy, they don’t broadcast it until 7 at night.  They do pre-race coverage from 5 am til noon or whenever it starts.  But then they show b-rated movies until the evening news comes on, where they announce the winner. Then you can watch the race.  I think it is pretty funny, myself.

Hard to believe it has been a week since John’s surgery.  He is doing really well.  This afternoon we will go into the doctors office and he will have any left over stitches removed, the stints in his nose removed, and the cotton in his ear taken out too.  The cotton in his ear is from the skin graft and cartilage they used.

John is so excited to get this done!  Even now, he is getting back into the swing of things and talking on the phone with the staff he coaches for summer project finances.

Thank you for your prayers.
